Behavior Comments

I spent some time with a friend last night on the way home from work. This teacher was very torn up about her student that had complained about her, when in fact the student wasn't paying any attention and logging in and out from their class. Due to this, I had posted these comments to help those teachers how have difficult students by making it a bit easier with thier comments.

Special Thanks to Teacher April for these comments on student behavior in class.

NOTE:As I keep saying, you will need to edit it a bit but it makes life hella' easier.

*** STUDENT DOESN'T PARTICIPATE

You're attentive during our class discussion. However, I need to see your willingness to participate and to share your ideas.

You are smart and you can comprehend the articles easily but you must show proper attitude during our class discussion. Making such unnecessary noises cannot help us to have a better communication.

You can answer my questions correctly because you are able to comprehend my questions and you listen carefully. Try to maintain a cooperative working environment by showing proper attitude.

Please log-in on time so I don't have to call you every day. Because instead of we can finish the lesson, some of our minutes are already wasted because you're always late. If you want to learn, you must be willing to study and cooperate with me.

Please avoid eating during our class, it interrupts our discussion. It's okay to eat snacks, but if you're going to eat everyday during out time, we can't finish a certain lesson. Share your thoughts completely and politely.

You are not paying attention to my questions and instructions that's why you can't follow the class discussion. While we are discussing the lesson, you're doing something else, you keep on typing.

It seemed like English put you under a lot of stress, but you tried hard. Even though you showed a little interest today, it was enough to show me that you still have the desire to learn. Perhaps, you need to set a purpose/goal in studying English and work toward that goal.

You need to study more so you’ll do better next time.

*** STUDENT CAN'T UNDERSTAND

Read the articles ahead of time and try to comprehend it. Search for the meaning of the words that you don't know so you can understand it and you can share your thoughts about the lesson. I need you to talk more so you can improve your pronunciation and grammar skills.

You should talk more for you to handle a simple conversation. It will help you to be confident when expressing your ideas about the lessons we we're studying. I need you to be prepared for our class discussion for me to check for your reading comprehension.

Study in advance the lessons that we will discuss for you to understand them more. You need to read them for a couple of times for you to be able to explain the situations that we have. So whenever I will ask you questions about out topic, you can answer me easily.

Always read the lesson before our class discussion so you can share your opinions about it. I need you to talk a lot for me to know if you understand the lesson. Try to read it again and again if you can't comprehend it with just one reading.

Please try to read the articles ahead of time so you can explain it during the class discussion. It's better because I will be able to hear your opinion and of course this is an opportunity for you to talk a lot in English.

She is not listening and answering my questions. She is not talking at all. Even though I explained and ask the questions for a couple of times, she can't get it because she is not paying attention.

*** ENRICH VOCABULARY / SENTENCES

You are able to follow my directions because you listen carefully. You need to be more careful when constructing sentences. 

You should try to enrich your vocabulary so you can understand the lessons we we're studying and you can express yourself more. You have to listen carefully to my instructions.

Try to study more basic words and expressions in English so you can answer my questions correctly and you can easily share your thoughts.

You still have difficulty in expressing your thoughts because you don't know what kind of words to use. Enrich your vocabulary by reading and using some common expressions in English. It will be a great help.

*** IMPROVE LISTENING

Sometimes you are having a hard time or you cannot comprehend the questions I'm asking you because you're not listening well. So try to improve your listening skill to answer my questions correctly, instead of that you always don't know the answer.

You could hardly understand my questions and I need to repeat it for a couple of times. So you should listen carefully so you can follow my instructions and answer my questions correctly.

You should listen carefully and follow my instructions. You will not learn if you are not willing to study. Try to maintain a cooperative working environment by showing proper attitude.

Again listening skill is very important. Try to comprehend my questions so you can give correct responses. Read the article before our class and try to understand it and search for the meaning of some vocabulary words.

You are not listening to my instructions and questions and it seems you really don't want to participate in our class. Sometimes, you just log out without asking my permission or informing me. You always whistle and make whooshing sounds on the microphone. Please show some respect to your teacher.

Again you should listen to my directions and try to follow it so we can have a smooth conversation. If you are going somewhere, you must ask my permission instead of just leaving away or removing your headset.

You should listen to me carefully and try to follow my instructions so we can finish a certain lesson. You always remove your headset and just leave away without asking my permission. If you will continue to show improper attitude, you will not learn.

Try to practice answering my questions in complete sentences. I need you to listen carefully and pay attention to the things I'm saying so you can follow my instructions easily.

How can I evaluate you if you do not speak in class? The more you speak the more you'll improve. So please interact with me.
