Student attitude & profile in class for Advance

Third Part of the 2 posts prior to this. These are for intermediate students. ^___^

NOTE: As said before, these are templates not the actual comment. Please READ them before using. Edit them when necessary.



(Level 7-Advanced Low) 

·         The learner is able to use English as a tool of communication and also has a good command of the language and vocabulary, although sometimes still commits grammar inaccuracies.   
·         Intonation is still not as good as can be expected but the student is already aware and can actually correct his/her mistakes.   
·         The learner has tolerable English intonation. Student is able to use appropriate description and is able to use the language to his/her advantage.    
·         Student can maintain a level of conversation and sometimes can sway the conversation to his/her advantage.   
·         The learner has little or no problem with the different consonant and vowel sounds uttered by the teacher.   
·         The learner is more relaxed and therefore is not strained in the listening process. S/He can already differentiate the various consonant and vowel sounds.    
·         Comprehension is not a problem with the teacher. Student can easily catch the teacher’s meaning and even hidden meanings of words are easily understood. 


(Level 8-Advanced)   

  • The learner has a good working knowledge of the language. S/He can somewhat already understand the hidden meaning of American humor and other Western humor and even match the humor.    
  • The learner can communicate well in various complicated situations in a second language environment.
  • S/He is socially comfortable in situations or discussions that may involve intellectual participation.
  • S/He can narrate events using the past, present and future actions with ease.
  • Native speakers can easily understand him/her because of his/her strong vocabulary and syntax, although errors are still inevitable.
  • The learner can put into practice proper intonation markers in his/her sentences. 
  • The learner has a highly developed listening skill.
  • Blended words and complex sentences are already easy for the student.
  • The learner still faces some confusion in difficult words but it is tolerable. 
     

(Level 9 – Advanced High)   
  • The learner has already made great strides in learning the language.
  • S/He can match wits with the fluent English speaker and even though there is still considerable hint of the native language sound in speaking, it is already very much acceptable. With constant practice and more interaction with native speakers, the student can adapt to any English-speaking environment without hitches.
  • The learner could follow the instructions and very willing to learn.
  • Teacher needs no repetition questions with translation to student.
  • He could answer with correct structure. He is quite articulate.
  • He speaks well.
  • The learner has a native accent when speaking in English. However, he could express himself comfortably.
  • The learner speaks in fragments. 
  • The learner has problems in producing the F, R and final S sounds. Repetitions are done once or twice after which the student would finally be able to recognize and comprehend the question.
  • Adjustment in speech rate is done to accommodate the comprehension of the student.
  • The learner could understand and answer questions without repetition from the teacher. He learns fast. 
  • The learner can carry a spontaneous conversation.The learner has difficulty expressing himself in English, and responds in fragmented words. Student is able to pronounce words clearly by pronouncing it slowly. It only needs to be repeated once or twice.
